I make paintings that are meditative, serene and quiet. I strive to transport the viewer to a remote place, a precipitous mountain, an ice field, or a spritual plane. I want to evoke a cold or calm feeling so that a person experiences the painting emotionally and aesthetically. I was born and continue to live in Fort Worth, Texas. My career in art education at both the college and secondary levels has been very rewarding. I currently develop programs for adults and children in the Education Department of the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. My BFA from Texas Christian University and Masters from Texas Woman’s University are both in painting. I have been painting since 1970, and I feel that all my experiences of making and teaching others to make art have enriched the development of my present work.
